I love this place. They have tons of equipment (8 squat racks and 8 flat benches in the main room, and like 5 more squat racks in a side room that’s open during peak hours. About 15 or so cable machines with weight stacks, along with all the isolation exercise machines found at gyms. They have way nicer barbells than most gyms. Rogue Pyrros bars for the platforms and Rogue Ohio bars for the squat racks/bench. They even have Eleiko’s Oppen deadlift bar, although it’s the first gen one without the elevated handles. Other speciality bars available are Elitefts safety squat bar, Rep Fitness’s swiss cambered bar, Rogue Bella, Rogue women’s weightlifting bar, and even a 15 lb training bar for new lifters) that are well maintained. The gym is always clean, and the staff and management are on top of any issues and super friendly. In particular, I love that they actually enforce rules whereas most gyms just have suggestions. Speaking of suggestions, they also listen to suggestions. They staff properly instead of being under staffed like so many places are now so if you need help, someone will actually be available. The only issue with this place is that they shut down for about 2 weeks twice a year, although this is when they do mainteance and move things around so it’s understandable. The local YMCA does offer day passes for those dark times though

Update: once again it’s clear the most important thing to this “business establishment” is allowing their “employees” to attend football games. Supposed to be open until 9pm - closing at 2. Kickoff is at 4!!! In 3 Saturdays they’ve effectively shaved off about 20 hours of availability to their customer base. Shame on you. Update: their posted hours for Saturday are until 9pm. Today, October 26, they are CLOSING AT 1, because, you guessed it: football game. The lack of self awareness illustrated here is dumbfounding. Previously posted: The university of Oregon SRC states that it serves the Alumni community as well as the general public - not just students. Their behavior in maintaining a consistent and useful schedule; and in developing customer service behaviors with their student employees falls far below what should be expected from that. They are overly eager to close early and open late. If the student employees want to go to a football game two hours before kickoff and thus close the gym 6.5 hours before their established closing time, then that is what they will do. The UofO SRC demonstrates a failure of customer service leadership that has a multi dimensional negative impact; both on its CUSTOMERS, AND the students it purports to empower.

they close for a month over winter break. other colleges don't do this! Even oregon state which uo doesn't take seriously for some reason is open over the entire winter break. these people need to get a grip
