I just had my son’s 9th birthday party there. Very poor experience. Our hostess was nice and helpful however the pool was shared with a public swim time-it was so loud in the pool area I could hardly hear the life guards and they would just walk away without explaining what was Happening. My son failed the swim test as he felt too much pressure and ended up not even entering the pool as they required him to wear water wings (I think. Communication was not their strong point) even when I was with him in the shallow end. The pool was utter chaos too. Packed. So not worth the amount of money I spent. They also closed the slide-which was the main reason I even thought to have the party there. I have been to the Y and it’s way better. Friendlier staff and better set up for the amount of money you pay.

For short term use this place is good. But if you are a citizen of Peterborough and use the place on a regular basis it's all gone down hill. Roof paint peeling and yes it has hit me in the face. (Brought to the attention of person in charge of the weight room in 2017). The weights are constantly out of place or missing.70 percent of the benches are cracked, or broken, flooring in certain areas have huge gaps in the rubber( Was never installed properly, once again brought to the attention to the same person in charge of the weight area). I honestly don’t know how my taxes and fee's pay for this. I am a person with patience but the final straw to write this, as I cut myself on one of the cracked benches. The city of Peterborough should be ashamed. Go to any neighbouring city and places are bigger and better taken care of. The reason for the two stars are for the front staff I interact with on a daily basis face to face that are amazing. But when it comes to scheduling of activities, and the weight area it is all frugal. The City of Peterborough should be ashamed to call this a “ premier facility”. I will still go here since of the convenience. Update: Took 5 years but they seem to have corrected the dumbbell issues. My assumption is they read the review. Now let’s keep hope that they fix the floor and benches soon, before another person injures themselves. Still benches are not level on the ground. As you can see in the pictures. People are bare foot doing stretches in the weight room area. Socks is one thing but foot fungus is another. Allowed to wear winter boots which creates salt all over the treadmills and weight area. Update now it’s down to 1 star

Booked my daughters birthday party and got rushed threw the whole thing got less the 30 mins in the pool and deff didn't get the alotted time in the party room. Wasn't impressed with the staff in charge and they allowed my 5 yr old to jump in the pool with a life jacket to take the swimming test before I could suggest otherwise and she had to be rescued. I wouldn't recommend a party here at all.
