Our first visit here to the Garden Community Centre on March 1st, 2025. Huge gymnasium flooring to accommodate the various businesses and farm to table farmers. The main event was the businesses selling garden seeds. Lots of advice about flowers and vegetable growth.

You can’t win them all! Yesterday I attended an Aquafit class where the young instructor followed the principles of vertical water fitness, using the water and speed of motion for resistance, leading the class with both visual and verbals cues. The intensity was fantastic and my heart rate remained elevated throughout the class, which is not a regular occurrence at this Aquafit. I really appreciated her knowledgeable use of using the water as resistance to gain leg, arm and core strength. I left the class feeling energized and grateful that a young lifeguard not trained in fitness, had taken the time to educate herself in the principles of aqua fitness. Sadly, the change room was filled participants criticizing this young lifeguard, moaning over the lack of use of pool noodles and stating they would file complaints with management. Your work out is only as good as the effort you make. The young woman provided opportunity for feedback and at any point if someone was unhappy, they could have offered a suggestion. Carling Heights community centre and pool is fantastic, very clean and well staffed but has a problem with cranky, obstinate regulars who seem to think they own the place. To the young lifeguard who left me with sore, aching muscles this morning, well done! Bravo to you!

Clean, well lit, with plenty of offerings including Aquafit, pickleball and a weight room. A nice place to frequent in the dark days of winter.
