Kingston East Community Centre

What an awesome, bright and highly functional our new community center is!!! So excited to see this facility being used for so many activities by such a varied age group. The receptionist was very friendly and informative. It was not intimidating as some centers can be. Everyone looked like they were so enjoying being there. We are excited to be able to finally access a wide variety of activities without having to go downtown or to the west end. Finally!!! I wish they had included a pool in their construction design, however, we are thrilled to now be able to access, easily, these great programs!!!

I purchased a gym pass here for one month just to trial it out and so far so good! I think I only paid around $40This building was built this year in March (?) so the building itself, equipment and amenities are all new and work well. Whenever I go use the gym, usually in the mornings, there are always people playing badminton in the courts. The gym itself is kind of small but has everything I need- treadmills, rowing machine, elipticals, free weights, squat rack, bench press, medicine balls, water fountain, and more. Receptionists are always nice inside the gym. Never more than 3 people in when I’m there. The pass I got also has access to the avista Pool (?) which I haven’t been to yet and ymca classes that are held everyday in Kingston east community center . I have not gone to any of the classes but there is a schedule with a wide variety- childrens play group, Zumba etc. The change rooms are bright and clean and have plenty of lockers, showers and toilets.

Disappointed with this facility. We really deserved more than this. Absolutely tiny fitness centre, and a walking track. No way you could work out in there with more than 2 others in the fitness area and be able to use any equipment. This has to be losing lots of $ for the city.
