Today marked the official grand opening of Montagna Park in Henderson. The beautifully designed and manicured park offered local residents and the entire Inspirada community a wonderful opportunity to partake in this celebratory event. The park offers baseball fields, pickleball courts and a playground area for the children. There's also a nearby walking trail with spectacular views of the surrounding area. The park's open landscape allows both individuals and families to enjoy the space simultaneously without fear of impeding on one's individual space. The park will also serve as a resource for a future school which, is slated to be built nearby. My hope is as development continues and the area’s population increases that the park remains looking pristine as it did on day one. Unfortunately, I’ve seen in other cities after new parks are opened the maintenance and regular upkeep tends to take a back seat to other projects. I believe Henderson is different, however, only time will tell.

Beautiful park paid for by the CoH and KB with tons of features and amenities but missed the mark on a handful of features and could be improved. Baseball fields are beautiful but locked away when there are no leagues or tournaments present. Frustratingly, no one is allowed to use them for practice or casual games. Meanwhile, the soccer field is open. Pickleball courts are also beautiful but slanting down in 1 direction, have irrelevant and frustrating tennis rules posted, and have a dangerous and badly designed sitting area which is inaccessible from the courts. Worst of all, they only built 4 instead of the originally planned 6 due to the need for a storage plot that’s always empty. Because of court rules not being properly posted, there is always confusion around if some are challenge or open courts, if 2 are coming off or 4, etc. However, most people are friendly and good natured and gameplay is decent. Landscaping doesn’t seem to be thoughtfully designed by humans - as a result, there are many foot paths carved after the fact to support the natural flow of traffic instead of people following sidewalks and getting around some of the nonsensical placements of rocks, dirt, and shrubs. For example, why wouldn’t there be a sidewalk for the shortest walking path from the parking lot to the courts? Or non zig zagging paths to the bathrooms? It’s no wonder that the shrubs can’t seem to stay alive. Still, Montagna is a beautiful park overall especially from afar. Hopefully, the issues will be addressed and the park will be improved over time.

Beautiful park and easy to get to location. For baseball needs lots of work. The pitching mound is just packed dirt (not clay) so it is a mess - you are all awkward to pitch and has big hilump in middle. Warmup mounds are small and no landing areas (and are short too), so hard to use. The dirt is so red that balls are soon red and there is so many distractions in the background, it's hard to track the balls. I hope they do remodel it as it has a lot of potential. Look forward to seeing what happens next.
