Flaherty Park Pickleball courts

The courts are almost always full and I’ve tried visiting on different days at different hours, so would love to have more courts. Oftentimes, they are taken over by the pickleball club which I can understand to an extent but I thought this was a public park, meaning that anyone can use the facilities. However, this is not usually the case and oftentimes when I’m using a court with my family, many of them try to push themselves on our court without asking. I get it’s a community type of sport but sometimes we want to just hit the ball around, not play actual, serious games. This has created a very uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere for us so I don’t think we’ll be returning. Will be looking for a new place to play.

Very busy this morning with lots of people playing and having fun. The courts are surrounded by a very high fence. Oh, and they have lighting available! Plenty of parking here.

Great pickleball courts. Wake Forest hosted a great tournament and temporarily taped up tennis courts to have plenty of Pickleball courts.
