Very pretty park. Came to OP for a softball tournament and took the kids here to get out of the hotel. Very well maintained. Beware: no bathrooms that we could see.

Great playground eqipment, 2 tennis courts, and 2 wide open fields for kites, rockets, soccer, football (not a full field), lacrosse, etc. Walking trail that is about 0.5 miles half through the woods and half in sun. Crafty residents sometimes hide little fairy houses along the trail to admire. My problem with the park is city maintenance is terrible! The city of Overland Park is severely neglecting weeding, shrubs overgrowth, mulch refresh & raking, painting of the courts and playground equipment, graffiti removal, and... TONS of poison ivy. TONS. It's right next to the trail and your kids and pets WILL get it all over themselves. There is trash blowing around sometimes. City needs to hire more parks and rec people to maintain parks. It used to be one of the nicest features of the neighborhood. This is sad and frustrating. 2023 fall update - things are gradually getting better with trash. The doggie poop bag dispenser is empty and broken often.
