Wyandotte County Lake Park

On the first nice day of the year, the place was packed but everyone was friendly and courteous. People were fishing, grilling out, picnicing, all in all having fun. The park was clean, even the restrooms. The Bridle Loop trail was well maintained and well marked, even though a few spots were still wet. Plenty of tables, fire pits, grills, and grassy spots to hang out. There were mostly large families and large gatherings that day.

Good place for picnics and relaxing, plenty of ducks by the lake, there are few hiking trails but have not tried all, hiking can be challenging, there is a good size playground and pickle ball court. Bathrooms are also available.

It was muddy, of course, it being Mud Season, but it was extra dreary because there was so much honeysuckle bush. Grey vines wall-to-wall. It's scrubby, which is a shame. It'll probably be prettier in a couple of months. As we left, two people had let their dogs run loose, which means I won't be back. Another shame. Go to the dog park to do that, folks. That's what it's for.
