This is one section of a beautiful park with a paved lit sidewalk weaving around flower beds, magnificent old trees, and building with botanical garden and bathrooms. Perfect place to walk without stumbling. Thomas Rees Carillon is a delightful, unique feature near the path with regular songs and special concerts besides the normal time chimes that you hear.

Nice park. Visited on my trip to Springfield and really enjoyed seeing the fauna. There's also a botanical garden for people to visit but had to skip it due to shortage of time. This also serves as a great quiet picnic spot, offering lots of relaxation opportunities.

I hope you don't have a fear of ducks or geese because these fellas are everywhere! Sometimes they'll block vehicles in the road, but otherwise they just mind their own business (unless they believe you have food for them) Quick reminder to not feed the fowl any bread! It is not good for them and can lead to a birth defect called "Angel Wing" that prevents them from flying. Birds with this defect can be identified by a crooked, broken looking wing.
