One of the Best! This facility in Winter Springs is very impressive. The layout of the courts & cleanliness of the entire facility is very nice. I showed up around 12N on 4.22.24 and played a few games with some guys that happen to be there. I highly recommend Central Winds Pickleball to anyone living or visiting the area.

These pickleball courts are beautiful and brand new, they have dedicated bathrooms and fences separating each court to help prevent the balls from rolling into other people’s courts. The main downside here is that is it not beginner friendly because of the “paddle queue” system they enforce. I did the research before going and learned what it was and how it worked, but I can definitely see how someone brand new to pickleball could be confused and frustrated by the “secret rules” as there is nothing posted about the paddle queue system at the courts themselves. To sum it up - all the courts are in use, you are supposed to play with strangers to allow as many people the ability to play as possible. While I understand this allows more people to play, it’s very intimidating for beginners. I wouldn’t want to be paired with people who are serious and might find it frustrating to play against a total beginner. Reserving a court or going during a quieter hour are the best bets to ensure you don’t have to play with strangers.

Don’t get me wrong— I love pickleball. I try to go out and play, but every time I go it’s packed. No biggie, I go for a walk instead and check later. I play 1x 1. Not sure if that is against the “rules” that the regulars have established. People ask to join 2 minutes in. We say no thank you and they get upset. They say it’s an “open queue”. After a full ten minutes of playing, a woman walks up to us and says “you have two options: leave the queue or let them play with you”. She does not work there. I check the website— nothing of the sort is on there. Why does something that is meant to be fun and healthy end up being overly complicated and filled with unnecessary rules? Really turns people away.
