Springhead Park

The park had a lot of trash on the ground and the bathrooms were not clean. We picked up as much as we could. You could tell that there was plastic bottles that was run over by lawn mowers. We cleaned the bathrooms to make it decent for the several parties that was going on there. The Pavilion was nice to be under. There used to be more tables under the Pavilions... but we had a good time there for our church family fun day.

Springhead park is absolutely beautiful. It's situated in a quiet neighborhood next to a school with tons of parking. There is a soccer field, baseball field, basketball court, tennis court along with other grassy areas to run around. There are 4 regular swings and 2 toddler swings as well as, one playground for ages 2-5 and one for 6+. There are enormous shade trees that overlook the playground that provides plenty of shade from the sun. There is tons of picnic seating which provides an ideal location for a lunch, or birthday party. Unfortunately the park is not well maintained, there is quite a bit of trash everywhere all the time, Which makes no sense considering they have TONS of trash bins sittuated everywhere. The bathrooms are extremely dirty, their are spider webs everywhere and there isn’t even a sign for where the bathroom is. The worst part is there is ants surrounding and on the playground set. You can’t sit on the edges of the playground without being attacked. We started coming here 1-2 times a week for the last two months and nothing has changed to clean or improve the area, recently someone has graffitied on one of the buildings as well.

My granddaughter’s 4th birthday party was held at the park today and there was trash all over the ground, the restroom was dirty and there were so many wasp nests under the pavilions and wasps flying around everywhere. The birthday girl ended up getting stung 4 times. You would think whoever is responsible for taking care of the park would do better as far as keeping the park clean as well as maybe spraying the wasps nests and getting rid of them. The playground itself was the only decent area of the park.
