My mountaineering guide Moderate to low-intensity mountain climbing, especially for families or individuals who are not physically strong. It took me 90 minutes, approximately 450 calories, and 7600 steps to walk from the parking lot to the semi mountaintop with seats. The altitude here is 491 meters.

Great hiking area away from the costal fog this time of year. Loads of parking on a sunny weekend day. Lots of flat areas to set up for parties (lots of them were happening when we hiked in). Did an easy 3.5 mile loop on Ollason Trail to Coyote Spring and back. Bathrooms along the way. Shaded in a lot of areas. No complaints. Leave no trace. Unfortunately saw some trash along the paths that were closest to the picnic areas.

If you are in the area, this is a great spot for a bit of mountain biking. Steep climb up Jeep road is rewarded by some great single track downhill trails, particularly Airplane, Pipeline and Mark’s Canyon. Quite challenging, but great fun for advanced-intermediate riders.
