This place can do a lot better! The "Experience" isn't really on par with the prices they charge. This is my input as a member for a few months now. On my first time coming here to play, I wasn't given any instructions on how to que up for games. I even had to ask the receptionist for a tour, but he didn't even try to guide me anywhere, nor did he explain anything. I played for a few weeks before I even knew they had a locker room, sauna, and showers... This was way different than the Hub in San Jose. Nonetheless, I was able to figure everything out on my own by exploring and talking to other players. They really need to be better at introducing new clients to the space if they want to grow. Not having staff that are welcoming or motivated to grow their business will definitely hurt them in the long run. I recommend they have a checklist for what to tell new visitors and a quick tour around the facility to show them around. Next would be the amenities. They have showers, but no towel service. So you have to bring your own towel to shower every time. At the prices, they charge monthly or even daily, they should have towels. Also, the main water fountain to fill up your water bottle in the front lobby seems to constantly be out of service. They should add another one there to help. Everyone uses it so it's better to have more. Having to walk up the stairs to refill your water bottle sucks when you've been playing all day. Lastly, for exposure, they have no real marketing plan to get new members for pickleball. Sometimes I come here on what should be busy days, and find that almost nobody is playing. It would be nice if there were more people to play with. So, being able to bring someone with you for free if you're a member would be a good place to start. They did have a special "event" this week that allows members to bring one extra person with them, but apparently, it's "only for fitness" so no pickleball. Wow, what a lame plan to celebrate your founding. This would have been a great way to get more people to come and play, but they missed the drive with that one. The weekend hours are what I really don't get. They close at 8pm on Saturday and 6pm on Sunday. They should be closed later on those days since most people are off of work. But, it seems like they might be understaffed to even have those hours. Honestly, I'm really considering to stop coming here once spring or summer. But, I might be persuaded if they make this place better. I really doubt that will happen unless they get new management or an actual marketing team. Some good things about this place are: Plenty of parking that seems safe. Sometimes, they have good events. (when it's announced or promoted right) The indoor lighting and temperature is perfect. The outdoor court lighting is okay. This place has so much potential to be the best place to play in the area. I hope they do better.

I love the courts, lighting, general atmosphere! But I’ve been a member of the Bay Club with comparable dues. They provide shower and sweat towels, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower. That would be nice here too!

This is an A+ venue. If you want to be able to play indoors or outdoors in Alameda, you can’t beat this facility. There are 8 courts inside and 7 courts outside, which are smartly placed on the side of the building that doesn’t get as much wind. The nice thing about the courts are they are separated by skill level. Each court has a rating on them with a paddle rack. In addition, they have some challenge courts where the winners stay on. $135 per month or $25 for drop in play for non-members. Some might see $135 per month costly, but if you are someone who lives near Alameda, loves the sport and plays multiple times a week…what is $135?
