Two tennis courts have been defaced with pickleball markings and a confusing split schedule. Hope it keeps everyone away so I can play. I want to keep this place a secret but needed to pay respect for providing a life experience. Just like death & taxes, all dads inevitably get a nut-check. And for me, that day was today. My almost 12 year old took a full 180-degree swing of his tennis racket and smashed a tennis ball from 30 feet away, laser beaming it right at my right nut sac. I mean, the ball was traveling a good 80 mph with NO sag - just a clean straight line. All the air in my body left instaneously, and my testicle felt like it richocheted from my crotch up my body until it jammed itself in my throat. I could neither breathe nor breathe fast enough to release the pain. I stood in a fetal position after letting out a yelp and held my remaining nut - desperately hoping the other one would drop back. Somehow it's taken me this long in my life to finally articulate what it feels like to experience smashed balls. I stood there, unable to move, furiously in pain, and uncontrollable laughing at the situation. I looked in the direction of the tennis ball-rocket launcher and he had disappeared. And from an untraceable location a small voice said, "I'm sorry. Are you ok, daddy?" So, why do I call it a "nut-check"? Because the only logical thing that remains is later that night (or maybe even sooner), when the kid's asleep, after a shower, you'll check yourself. The surprising part is, if you were properly beamed like me, your bean bag would be slightly swollen with fewer wrinkles - just like when they were younger and less influenced by gravity. Just sharing a fun (yet painful) fact. Not that I wish this on anyone.

Nice, clean and well maintained recreation center in Burbank.. There are senior center, art school, baseball field, 2 tennis courts, children play area, gym and restroom. You can find many parking here too, very convenient.
