Surprise Community Park

Spontaneous fishing event with my grandson. Lake Surprise is close by and is stocked. We arrived and asked if we could borrow a worm. Two kind men gave us two worms, one we used as bait, and the second my grandson wouldn't let us use, he's starting a worm farm. As we fished, the lake was restocked. There were many fishing and picnicking. Seats, picnic tables, and grass were used to enjoy the possibilities. Next, the grandson hooked up with kids on a well equipped playground. While we were fishing, a nice man gave us tickets for a college baseball game. As the grandson has little experience with baseball, the tickets gave us the opportunity to check out the baseball stadium and see a couple of innings. There are so many photo opportunities and people kind enough to help us and take our pictures. You've got to check out the beautiful cactus in the center of an active area.

Beautiful park. Free Pickleball open play. Plenty of courts when league is not in session. Fishing. Lake with ducks. Basketball courts. Playground. Dog park. Covered picnic areas. Only downside: Men’s bathroom has been out of service.

One of the nicest municipal parks in the entire state. Very well maintained and always clean. Dog park, fishing pond, playground, walking paths, pickball/basketball/volleyball courts; there's something for everyone here!
